Become a member of the health care team by gaining the skills to perform an Electrocardiogram in a hospital, clinic, lab, or physician’s office. Course Topics include: Anatomy and physiology of the heart, diseases of the heart, proper lead placement, operating the monitor, Holter monitors, Pacemakers, basic reading of EKG recordings, identifying artifacts, and professionalism. This course will also prepare the student to take a certified EKG Technician Exam certified by the American Medical Certification Association. Also offered to students (not required or mandatory for employment) is a nationally recognized certification through the American Medical Certification Association for an additional fee.
