Carpentry

The Carpentry program at SSVT provides students with experiences in both Mill and House Carpentry. Mill Carpentry involves production techniques for building wooden furniture and cabinets. House carpentry provides hands on experience ranging from residential remodeling to new building construction.

Course Content

Safety is our primary concern. Students have opportunities for experiences in the following areas: use of hand tools and power tools, plan reading and house design, mill carpentry, layout and construction, cabinet making and installation, framing, exterior and interior finish work, house carpentry, foreman skills and Massachusetts Building Code(s).
